What is the difference between mass and weight?

These two terms are often used interchangeably. Can anyone tell me the difference between them?

Mass is the amount of matter present in a body and is an intrinsic property of the body. Mass of an object remains the same always at any place. Weight is a measure of how strongly gravity pulls on that matter. The SI unit of Mass is Kilogram. Mass is measured using a pan balance. The SI unit of Weight is Newton. Weight is measured using a spring balance, which is a vector quantity. Mass is always a constant at any place and any time, which is a scalar quantity.
